I often lament the fact that I can’t be in Ireland all the time. Thankfully there are so many Irish-Americans (and those who wish they were!) that we can usually find some pretty good craic close to home.
In Dublin, Ohio, St. Patrick’s Day is cause for a few days of celebration- and we’ll be traveling there this year to join the fun!
The town, located on the outskirts of Columbus, takes their Irish attitude seriously, but for St. Patrick’s Day they turn the fun up a wee bit.
Beyond the parade and entertainment in the Irish pubs we have a few uniquely Dublin activities on our ‘to do’ list.
My youngest can’t wait to become a ‘Fairy Finder’ on the Irish Fairy Doors of Dublin Trail through the historic streets. She is excited to find the doors hidden in shops, but hasn’t yet seen the official Fairy Finder shirt if she discovers them all.
I know we will all enjoy the Blarney Bash after the parade. You can never go wrong with Irish dancers and live music. I’m sure we will check out the kids area- as well as the many food trucks on site to get a taste of Dublin.
But I’m going to be honest here and say that I am really looking forward to the Best Legs in a Kilt contest. Truly, there is just something about a man in a kilt… Something I wish my husband would realize…
Join us for Dublin Ohio St. Patrick’s Day
