Gallarus Oratory on the Dingle Peninsula. Just one spectacular site to add to your Ireland vacation itinerary.
The Gallarus Oratory is just one of the historic sites along Slea Head Drive on the Dingle Peninsula. Built between the 7th and 8th centuries and is one of the best preserved Christian churches in Ireland. The construction of this dry stone church is unique to County Kerry in both it’s ‘upturned boat’ shape and the fact that no mortar was used, yet the building is waterproof.
