Many of the most popular heritage sites in Ireland are under the care of the Office of Public Works, or OPW. If you plan to visit quite a few of these sites, you can save money by purchasing an OPW Heritage Card.
The Ireland OPW Heritage Card is valid for one year from date of purchase and can be used as often as you like during that year.
Cards may be purchased individually or as a family group (consisting of 2 adults and a ‘reasonable' number of children).
The easiest way to purchase your OPW Heritage Card is to buy it at the first OPW Heritage Site you visit. Just be aware that some of the smaller sites may not have the ability to process credit cards.
You can view the sites under the care of the OPW, check their entrance costs, compare against the cost of an OPW Heritage Card, and see if it will help you save money on your Ireland family vacation at the Heritage Ireland website. The ability to search sites by county is incredibly helpful as you plan your Ireland vacation.
