Making friends at Cahir Castle, Tipperary, Ireland
Making Friends

This is one of my favorite photos of Brenna during her first trip to Ireland.  She had just had her first birthday and had been walking, relatively steadily, for about a month.  Dressed in her sweet pink pea coat she was absolutely adorable.  We were exploring Cahir Castle in Tipperary.  As it was late November we had the castle and grounds quite to ourselves and Brenna made fast friends with this grandfatherly gentleman on staff.  He waited patiently as she wobbled toward him, encouraging her every step.

The people of Ireland are what make the country so very special.  There is always time for a bit of a chat, an intriguing tale or even for a toddler to show her new walking skills to a stranger.

We visited Cahir Castle in 2005.  Click here to read more about our visit to Cahir.

  1. Thanks for sharing about your trip. I am longing to take my kids to Ireland and you make it sound so inviting.

Interesting, that I was just talking to a group of girlfriends last night about how we should take a trip to the Irish countryside and just hang out with and get to know the locals. It just seems they’re so friendly – and that’s exactly what you’re saying here!
