Look down as you begin to climb the Sky Road and you may catch a glimpse of Clifden Castle. Built in 1818 by John D'Arcy, the man credited with founding Clifden, the castle was lived in for fewer than 80 years before it was abandoned.

  1. This Castle is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. We had the pleasure of visiting in September of 2018.
