What Would Happen if Ryanair Purchased Aer Lingus?

Now, I've never flown Ryanair- but who can miss all the stories about their wild fee structure?  And who hasn't watched (and rewatched) the Cheap Flights video on YouTube?

But I have flown Aer Lingus and, honestly, they are my preferred flight provider to Ireland.    What I wasn't aware of was that Ryanair already owns nearly 30% of Aer Lingus.  And, because the government has agreed to sell their 25% share, if Ryanair purchases those shares and owns more than 30% of Aer Lingus they are are required to bid for 100% of the airline shares.
