While I am always on the look out for new attractions and activities to share across Ireland it pays to revisit sites I’ve spent time at in the past. This fall the girls and I returned to the Cliffs of Moher. While we had seen the cliffs from a cruise in 2013, we hadn’t been on top…

When James Stuart lined the drive to his Georgian mansion with 150 Beech trees in the late 18th century his goal was to add a sense of grandeur to the entry of his estate. Nearly two centuries on about 90 of these trees remain as one of the most photographed locations in Ireland: The Dark Hedges….
The last time I stayed at Doolin Hostel was in 2016. I found it much the same as I had during our stay in 2014: clean, comfortable, welcoming. Drivers of vehicles of all sorts seem to be rich sources of information, don’t they? What a fun way to travel!
That looks like so much fun! It’s been years since I’ve been to Killarney and I would so love to take my kids to Ireland.

Touristy? Maybe. But still a delight, I’m sure.
I agree, carriages are touristy, but I love them too. The kids love it, it’s fun, and makes sightseeing easy.
I knew immediately when I read this that I had heard the term jaunting cart before. It’s in a song from the old Disney movie the Gnomemobile. The proper Irish gnomes sing about riding along in a jaunting cart. And now I know what one looks like! Thanks for sharing.
I may be touristy, but it sure looks like fun!
Love the term “jaunting cart” 🙂
What fun! Sometimes people get so worked up about not doing the “touristy” thing that they forget they’re usually fun (otherwise why would tourists do them??)
