Knappogue Castle, owned and managed by Shannon Heritage, was once open for public tours. Though the walled garden is still available to visitors, there are only two ways into the castle: the nightly Medieval Banquet from April – October or via castle rental, for an event or lodging.
During our 3 night stay at Knappogue I had the honor of chatting with two of the ‘Ladies of Knappogue' – Lady Alison and Lady Caroline – as well as popping into the nightly medieval banquet for a bit of craic to end the evening. I’ve never been inside the castle but I absolutely love the grounds of this castle especially the ‘secret’ garden around back of it. It’s stunning and I love to see all your posts and videos on Ireland:-) I love Ireland, even in the rain!
Sometimes I think Ireland is best in the rain. Well, not a lashing rain, but a lovely, soft, sparkling rain. 🙂 The walled garden behind the castle is a great surprise- such a quiet place.
