How to Start Planning an Ireland Vacation

Hello from a very wet Dublin!

I have a day off between tours so I am playing ‘catch up' on some work from my room at the Trinity City Hotel.

I'll give you a little overview of where my group will be going in the coming week – right after I answer this terrific question from Susanne H.

How to Start Planning an Ireland Vacation

A group of 4,  are planning a 10 day trip to Ireland in September of 2024.  I have no idea where to start or what we should see.   One in our group wants to play golf twice and that is fine with others as we’ll sightsee and/or hit the pubs.  Don’t know what a budget would even look like due to the euro exchange for US.

Luckily for Susanne – and you – I have a few ways I can assist you as you begin planning your trip.

If you want to do all, or most, of the planning on your own, then follow my step-by-step tips here. These will help you begin to figure out a budget, decide on accommodations and transportation, and narrow down how much to see and do during your trip.

The My Ireland Vacation Planner & Journal walks you through those steps.

I also offer vacation coaching, in 30 and 60 minute sessions, to help you tighten up those plans and have any questions answered.

If you would like a custom trip planned for your group then consider my Custom Itinerary service. I work with you to plan a trip that fits your vacation goals, interests, and budget.

Final Week in Ireland

It's kind of hard to believe, but tomorrow begins my final week in Ireland. The past 5 weeks have flown past.

The past week's tour wrapped up with quite a bit of rain and an evening of great food and terrific music in Westport. Craic was mighty in both Matt Molloy's and The Porterhouse, with both places standing room only.

In the coming week I'll be following the Wild Atlantic Way from Clifden to Kinsale, then the Celtic Coast from Kinsale back to Dublin.

A few highlights of this jaunt: Kylemore Abbey, Cliffs of Moher, Killarney, Dingle Peninsula, Kinsale, Cobh, Midleton Distillery, Dunbrody House, and Avoca Woolen Mill.

If you're on Instagram or Facebook follow along! I am posting daily highlights!
