Willie is the owner of Adare Country Pursuits at Adare Manor in Adare, County Limerick. After spending many years as a professional animal trainer, Willie was asked to create a Falconry Center in Adare. What makes Adare County Pursuits different than other centers for falconry in Ireland is that you can choose the birds you want to learn about and work with. All falconry sessions are private; your family or group will not be mixed with other people in a large group. Each session will give you information about the birds, allow you to handle the birds (with supervision), and go on Hawk Walks. View the birds online.

Humane Issues:
It is important to note that falconry in Ireland is highly regulated and the birds are very well taken care of. All the birds were bred in captivity, so they have not been taken from the wild. No one is employed that does not have experience with handling and caring for these types of birds. Adare County Pursuits is a licensed zoo. The care of the birds is paramount. They have a minimum of 2 vet visits annually to check up on the birds in addition to daily (even Christmas Day) physical inspections of all the birds (check weight, for injuries, given food, water and exercise, etc.)
PLEASE NOTE: Adare Manor has been closed for renovations. It is scheduled to reopen November 2017 and reservations are being taken now.
