Go Car-Free to the Cliffs of Moher & Doolin from Galway

If you’ve been dreaming of exploring Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way without getting behind the wheel, good news: it just got a whole lot easier.

The brand-new Route 351 now runs from Galway City to Doolin Pier, stopping at Kinvara, Ballyvaughan, and the dramatic Cliffs of Moher along the way. Think of it as your ticket to some of Ireland’s most iconic sights – no car keys needed.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Up to five daily trips, with four covering the entire scenic stretch from Galway City to the Cliffs of Moher.
  • Year-round service connecting directly with national rail in Oranmore and ferry sailings in Doolin (including Aran Islands trips and Cliffs of Moher cruises).
  • Affordable fares, starting at just €2.50 (TFI Leap Card -note: this is not the Leap Visitor Card – and Free Travel Pass accepted).
  • Real-time updates through the TFI Live app, so you always know when the next bus is coming.

This is more than just a bus ride, it’s a step toward sustainable tourism. As Liam O’Brien of Doolin Ferry puts it, “Visitors can now relax and enjoy a seamless car-free journey from Galway City to Doolin Pier, and from there sail to the Aran Islands or experience the Cliffs of Moher from the sea. The new route supports rural tourism, reduces congestion at key sites, and makes the journey part of the experience.”

Whether you’re after jaw-dropping cliffs, the otherworldly Burren landscape, or a ferry ride to the Aran Islands, this route makes it easy to go car-free while soaking up every bit of the scenery.
