I cannot recommend Jodi MORE HIGHLY! ❤️ My family of four just returned from 2 weeks in Ireland, a trip that exceeded all our expectations in every way! I had planned our route and accommodations myself after listening to several of Jodi’s podcasts and also consulting friends, and then I had a zoom call with Jodi to get her opinions and input on what I’d planned. She gave such insightful advice, suggesting a hotel more centrally located in Dublin, providing awesome restaurant and pub recommendations in each of the 6 towns we were visiting, alerting us as to which attractions needed pre-booking and which did not, providing us with rental car and luggage advice, and checking in right before our departure and again upon return to see if we had any further questions and get a report on our vacation! We just returned from Ireland on 10/15/23 after an epic trip that included my mother, who first visited Ireland 1949 as a 14 year-old girl, followed by my wife, my three children with spouses, and 6 grandchildren from 7 years old to 3 years old. Fifteen of us making up four generations! Given the size the group, I needed help so I started with a local travel agency a year ago, which for reasons that elude me, went nowhere. Hence, I started doing my own research, and, serendipitously, I came across a podcast entitled Ireland Family Vacations. It was a godsend! Then I learned that the author of the podcast, Jody Halsted, did consultations. The rest is history, as Tom Holland says, as we had the perfect vacation in Ireland. First, I talked with Jody via Zoom and then she forwarded a detailed list of recommendations, which we followed to the tee, and she followed up on my progress. Smart lady! More importantly, she personally introduced me to Ireland Chauffeur Travel so that we could reserve a luxury bus to move us around the country in style. To say that everyone enjoyed the trip is a gross understatement. It was a sad day as we packed up on the following Saturday morning for the drive to Dublin airport and we no sooner arrived home when the grandkids started asking when our next trip to Ireland would be. It appears that I am going to have to keep working.

My wife came across one of Jody’s podcasts, we then listened to several of them which were very helpful. After visiting her web site, we discovered that she does travel planning consulting too. I had been to Ireland twice before and had the framework of an itinerary. The money we spent for the 30 minute consultation was some of the best planning money we could have spent. Jody took time to get to know what our family was looking for. Our zoom call was very helpful, we then received a detailed itinerary after the call. What was most impressive was that after our call, Jody would check in from time to time to see if there is anything else we needed. Any follow up question we had was answered promptly with great information. Knowing our boys like sports, she suggested Hurling Tours Ireland which the boys loved and was a nice break from the museums.

I booked a 30-min consult with Jody and it was well worth it. I had done some research in advance and had a pretty well developed outline in advance of my conversation with her. She came prepared to the consult, having read my draft itinerary, and gave some great recommendations about certain pubs to check out based on my interests, sites to see that I hadn’t yet considered, and best times of day to do certain activities. All very valuable information. She also recommended some activities that I hadn’t been aware of, such as the Dingle Sea Safari, which was a highlight on our trip. After our call, which she recorded at my request thereby allowing me to review it again afterward, she provided a written summary of my itinerary with her recommendations (and very helpful direct links) embedded. I brought this on my trip and referred to it often.
